A decent topical for people new to skincare
StriVectin is one of those classic Western skincare brands that’s been around long enough to earn some trust, and at 40, I’m not above admitting I’ll take all the help I can get in the firming department. That said, “tightening” in a topical skincare product doesn’t mean the same thing it does in a dermatologist’s office. A cream can temporarily improve elasticity and hydration, which gives skin a smoother, slightly lifted look, but it’s not the same as what you’d get from radiofrequency, microneedling, or fillers. Still, for anyone who prefers to stay strictly topical, these formulas are designed to support firmness through peptides and moisture retention.Both the Contour Restore Face Cream and TL Advanced Neck Cream Plus share a lot of similar ingredients. They contain niacin (as myristyl nicotinate), a StriVectin signature meant to support barrier function and collagen synthesis over time, and a few peptides that can help with skin texture and resilience. There are also plant extracts like peony and thyme flower, plus shea butter, sunflower oil, and glycerin for moisture. All of that makes for a pleasant, well-formulated cream that feels substantial without being greasy.Unfortunately, both products also contain fragrance and limonene, which is disappointing in something meant for delicate neck and décolleté skin. The scent isn’t strong, but for me it was irritating enough that my neck felt itchy after nighttime use. Sensitive skin types will likely have the same issue.In terms of texture, the creams absorb nicely and don’t leave a heavy film, but I wouldn’t wear the face cream under sunscreen or makeup; it feels a bit too rich for layering. As someone used to Asian skincare, where the focus is on hydration and gentle layering, this felt like a step backward. I’ll be sticking to my more evidence-backed treatments like microneedling for real collagen stimulation.If you’re sensitive to fragrance and looking for a serious firming boost, this isn’t the one. But for someone who wants to dabble in “tightening” skincare and keep it topical, StriVectin remains a reputable, mid-tier option that is effective within the boundaries described above. These are generously sized jars that should last you a long time with regular use.

Firms skin with a floral scent
This set is a great value for the price. You get a full size (50 ml) tightening neck cream and a deluxe travel size (30ml) tightening/ sculpting face cream. It comes packaged in a glossy cardboard box with the products wrapped in tissue paper. Very giftable. The jars are thick and expensive feeling, and the lids have a solid “click” when you screw them on, so you know they’re closed. The cream itself is a medium-texture cream, thick enough to feel rich and hydrating, but thin enough to absorb quickly, so it doesn’t feel like it’s sitting on top of your skin for a while. I was able to easily apply makeup over the cream, and didn’t have any issues with it balling or crumbling with my makeup. I did feel like my skin was a bit more firm when I applied both of these creams, so this does seem to be effective. The only negative I found with these creams is that they’re highly scented with a heavier floral scent that really lingered for me for quite a while. I love scents, and most of my products have a fresh or gourmand scent profile so I was surprised when this scent gave me a headache. There are a couple specific scents that bother me (one conditioner my hairstylist uses always gives me a headache) so this must be the same scent profile. I tried using the cream several times because the results really did seem promising… But unfortunately I keep getting a very slight headache, so I had to step after a week. Hope this helps someone!TLDR: this product is very promising for tightening and firming skin, but be aware that it has a strong floral scent.

I wish it were fragrance-free
StriVectin Contour & Tighten Lifting Duo: TL Advanced Neck Cream PLUS & Face Sculpting CreamI so want to love this face and neck cream. I do love the luxurous texture of the creams. However, I find the mild fragrance more than a little bit mildy nauseating. I’ve been trying to work around it – laying other scent-free products over it and applying make-up, and that sometimes helps. But I’m having a hard time using it consistently because some days I can’t bare the smell. I’m also unable to use it at night because I am unable to sleep with any fragrance on or near me, or I wake up wheezing and with swollen eyes. But I do love how it makes my skin feel, so I will continue to use it irregularly. It will last a long time that way but I won’t experience the full benefits.
