I have had weighted blankets before, one was the size for a child (5lbs) and the other was a queen size (15lbs). I loved both of them however, I have two Dachshunds and I was worried the weight would smother them because weighted blankets are not good for small animals. So I couldn’t use either one because one of the dogs was always cuddling with me and even the child size one would still be on top of one of my dogs.This time I ordered the 7lb lap sized blanket in the color gray and it is perfect! For reference, I am a female that weighs 120lbs and I am 5ft tall. It covers just the area I want it to and there’s no way either of my dogs can fit under it because it almost forms to your body and there just isn’t enough room for one of them to fit under it too. The gray color is just like it is shown in the stock photo and the material is super soft. For me, the 7lb one and it is just the right amount of weight.I have used mine every night ever since I bought it! It is so calming and is just the right amount of pressure to feel like you’re being hugged. I also use this during the day too on different parts/areas on my body (legs, back, stomach, or shoulders) whenever I am dealing with some discomfort/pain, anxiety, or a PTSD moment. And it truly does help!If you’ve never used a weighted blanket before it may feel “odd” at first. You have to give your body enough time to get used to the weight and the pressure. And depending on what weight you get will also depend on how quickly your body adjusts. For me, it was 4-5 days for a lower weight and for a heavier weight it was roughly 5-7 days TOPS. Now it was never uncomfortable during those days but your body still needs to get used to it. I’ve always been told to start small with the weight and then slowly increase it if the 7lbs for example, isn’t enough for you. You’re not supposed to start off immediately with a 15-20 pound blanket because the weight and pressure really does affect the body. I recommend doing a little research on what this can do for body pain and sore muscles as well as how it can affect you in a calming aspect too.I highly recommend this gray 7lb lap blanket! This blanket is just simply perfect! I’ll have to order one for my husband too but I imagine, eventually he will want a heavier weight than the 7lb but he will start off small and work his way up if needed or wanted! But do yourself a favor and order this blanket! Your mind and body will thank you!

Perfect weight and size tp cover 1 person. Like for a twin or king bed; one of the occupants. However it slides. My husband was constantly having to adjust it.

Really nice weighted blanket. I love the heavy ess of this one. Easy washing with a cover that comes off. The material is very soft and I could just lay for hours with it on me. I get the best sleep. Also helps when I’m feeling anxious. Shipping was fast. It was packaged well. Would purchase again. Got it for a great price around Christmas.

Best thing ever. It’s not too heavy and not to light. It feels like a hug that has been missing for awhile or the right about of pressure to take the edge off at night. Easy to clean if you live near a landomant. Just be careful when throwing it at someone cause it will hurt if balled up. But definitely worth every penny
