Timely Book for ALL Parents and Educators!
Homeschool Rising is my new TOP recommendation for parents who want to deep dive into our current educational landscape and better understand their options—particularly homeschooling. As a Director of a classical homeschool community, I weekly connect with and serve families who are embarking on their own homeschool journeys. Homeschool Rising is a fantastic resource to point them to whether they are brand new to homeschooling or seasoned veterans. Everything from the history of education through the ages to current statistics and research studies to the hope and encouragement for homeschoolers, from cover to cover, Homeschool Rising is a wealth of valuable insights and information. The 14 pages of Notes at the end are GOLD as she lists the links to every single study referenced in each chapter. Data nerds like myself will rejoice in examining and sharing these studies with other parents.I was also pleasantly surprised to see numerous mentions of the role classical education played throughout history with an accurate description of its emphasis on logic, critical thinking, and nourishing souls on truth, goodness, and beauty. When parents begin to understand that true education is about cultivating wisdom, virtue and lifelong learners, they soon awaken to the realization that the “old” classical, tried and true approach to education is more relevant and needed today! Christy-Faith’s list of world-changers that were homeschooled (many of them classically) is proof that if we want to raise leaders, then homeschooling is an extraordinary endeavour. This book certainly isn’t just for classical homeschoolers. It’s for ALL parents who care about kids’ childhoods, well-being and education. All parents need to examine and reckon with the state of American schools today. Our society has gone far too long trusting the “experts” without questioning the underlying philosophies driving the current policies and methods. Christ-Faith says, “The moment has arrived to liberate ourselves from the confines of the past century and half and from the prevailing belief that schools hold unquestionable authority over our children’s education.” She raises the questions we should all be asking. She also shows us the current studies & data that should sound the alarm for all parents. American students are NOT thriving and these facts can no longer be ignored.I so appreciate Christy-Faith sharing her own transformative journey in public schooling from childhood, high school, college and beyond. The revelations she gained as a sought-after education consultant are priceless. Her encounters and experiences compelled her to “deconstruct” her views on our schools and ultimately conclude that “the system is beyond reform”. When that revelation set in, she walked away from it all to educate her four children at home. It’s a powerful testimony I believe all parents will resonate with on many levels.I’m so grateful Christy-Faith didn’t stop there. She has taken her years of hard-earned wisdom and insights from her journey and research and is shining a light on what homeschooling truly is and why more families are choosing it today. She highlights the diverse pedagogies, learning methods and resources parents can explore in their own journeys. She produces a fantastic podcast and does weekly live Q&A time on social media. And she has created the unltimate homeschool community available to all parents worldwide in her Thrive Homeschool Community. I highly encourage families to not just read her book, but take time to glean from her other resources found on her “Let’s Connect” page at the end of her book.Homeschool Rising is 1000% worth reading! It is a timely resource for ALL parents who care about their kids’ education and the future of our society.Thank you Christy-Faith for all that you are creating and putting out in the world! It is priceless!

A must read for parents and educators wanting the best education for their child.
Homeschool Rising is an amazing read. Christy-Faith manages to pack in so much knowledge and fact-based evidence as to why the public school system is failing our children and why homeschooling is on the rise in such a monumental way. Her writing style is conversational, easy to read, and will get you hooked on what she says.As a former special education teacher in the public school setting, I was constantly frustrated at the fact that the system is designed to just keep pushing students, of all abilities, forward. It didn’t matter if they actually learned or mastered the material, all that mattered was that they got through everything the end of year test covered.I saw an alarming rate of students being diagnosed with learning disabilities who I believed, if given the chance to learn at their own pace with a more individualized instruction, wouldn’t really need to be diagnosed. Students are stressed and anxious and constantly worried about fitting in and social pressures. Christy-Faith shares eye-opening statistics and data as to why the current education system seems to be causing an increase in these areas and how children who are homeschooled are more well adjusted than their public schooled peers. You will be shocked to read the truth about how our current system came about in chapter 3! I could go on and on about how informative and empowering this book is!Do yourself a favor and buy this book!!!

A book for all parents not just homeschooling families
I was so excited to receive this book in the mail, after almost a year of anticipation to read this book. I joined the homeschooling world about two years ago after realizing that the “normalized” school system was not an option for our family. We made the decision to homeschool our children based on our faith, moral values, and after seeing what schools was teaching. This decision did not come lightly. Wewas entirely overwhelmed by all the information out there. From curriculum, styles of teaching, methods and state rules. I am so thankful that I was scrolling tic toc one night and stumbled upon one of Christy lives. She was answering homeschooling questions and offering free advice in pdf format to help with foundation building. At that time Christy was just about to launch her online community. I joined her founding members not really knowing what I was doing. The community that she built quickly became one of the most influential homeschooling groups I joined. It offered the mentorship and encouragement that I so needed as I embarked on this new journey me and my family was about to take.Christy is a wonderful resource of educational knowledge, and she has a fantastic perspective on home education that helped alleviate a lot of my initial anxieties. I have loved reading her book, both to solidify my knowledge of homeschooling’s history, as well as to remind myself of its numerous benefits. It is clearly written and honest. I think this book is a wonderful resource for those of us who have already chosen this journey, but it is even more powerful for those who are initially contemplating it, or even those who are questioning its validity. As she discusses, it is becoming a more popular choice for American families, and this book truly highlights the fantastic benefits for those who courageously opt out of the standard (and extremely unsuccessful) mainstream path.
